Fat Slice

During a recent visit to Fat Slice- a fast food pizza chain, near the UC Berkeley campus- we (It Can Change) were discussing upcoming show ideas over a slice of pizza, and after much deliberation we had an epiphany: we realized that Fat Slice had all the necessary ingredients for an art space-a great location, an operating schedule, even lighting and frames! We decided that we should ask artists to create works on paper that we could then switch into Fat Slices's poster frames, creating an art show with minimal impact on the pre-existing environment.

I did a studio visit with these mad scientists (It Can Change) and they gave me a poster for the Fat Slice event/exhibition. I've been thinking about how rad it is ever since. I really love this parasitic approach to exhibition making.
